Video Edit Magic: Dragging Sources |
Dragging and Dropping sources is the most intuitive ways of shuffling sources around the timeline. A source can be dragged and dropped to anywhere in the timeline provided that it is dropped in the track belonging to the same group. For example video sources cannot be dragged and dropped to effect, transition or audio tracks.
Dragging and Dropping Sources |
When a source is dragged, a trail appears that shows where the source will be dropped. When a source is dropped then all the sources after the source to be dropped in linked tracks is moved by the length of the dropped source. Unlinked tracks remain unaffected.
In this figure, the video stream of the NewYear.wmv from Video 1 is dropped to the beginning of Video 2. Notice blue triangles appear that signifies that the sources that will be moved. The blue triangle does not appear on any source in Audio 1. This is because Audio 1 track is unlinked.
While you are working on the Timeline, simply move the mouse pointer over any source to view the time duration for which the source will be active.
